FACULTY OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) covers the theory and practice of designing and developing computer systems, both hardware and software, as well as networking and telecommunications technologies. The programme uses electronic devices, such as computers and mobile phones, computer software and networks to store, process, transmit, retrieve and manipulate information. It has a flexible course structure, where students can choose to study a range of Next-Generation Technology areas including: Digital Media and Games, Enterprise Informatics, Energy Informatics, Computational Mathematics, Scientific Computing and Medical/ Bio-informatics. These core subjects provide a solid theoretical and applied background in Computer Science and Information Technology.

PROGRAME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The program Educational Objectives of the ICE Programme are designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of Computer Science & Information Technology causes and to accommodate the needs of the profession. The graduates shall:

    1. Apply analysis, design, optimization and implementation skills in order to formulate and solve Computer Science and Engineering and multidisciplinary problems
    2. Take up higher studies, research & development and other creative efforts in science & technology.
    3. Use their skills in ethical & professional manner to raise the satisfaction level of stake holders.
    4. Practice Information Technology in the general disciplines of design, development & deployment of software and integration of existing technologies for e-governance nationwide.
    5. Apply fundamental technical knowledge and skills to provide workable solutions to problems in various areas of IT.
    6. Pursue higher education, research and development and deploy creative efforts in the area of Information Technology.
    7. Use the acquired knowledge in societal and environmental sensitive manner with professional ethics in a team.
